I was working in a dim lit factory and I had my own little section away from everyone else. My old co-worker Steven Schlanger was there and he has just pulled me aside to tell me he was going to be in Brooklyn with some friends that evening and he wanted some ideas as to where he should take them.
The entire time I was there you could sense this tension of strict management and everyone acted as if we would get in trouble at any time. We were both standing next to one of those spinning racks that held Christmas cards and as we talked we would remove a card and pretend to read it so the boss wouldn't suspect anything.
As Steven and I spoke I noticed Kasia had shown up, so I headed back to my work area to talk to her. When I got there she was on the other side of a large gate that separated me from the next work section and as she spoke to me I could see her standing next to my co-worker Chris (from Security).
"I'm going to move in with (her co-worker) Katie."
I had no idea why she was telling me this.
"It's the only way I'm going to be able to afford to get my breast surgery."
I was shocked and pissed. "So you want ME to pay for your share of the rent so YOU can get your breasts done?!" I WON'T do it, I'm telling you right now!" (even though in reality I do pay all the rent so it wouldn't have mattered anyways.)
I asked her how much the surgery would be and she said "six hundred dollars." I told her I'd just pay for them rather than having her move out and as I was saying this I started to think "Why am I arguing about this? How cool that this is what she wants to do? I would have paid for it anyways!"
I could see Chris smirking as we talked and I decided to amuse him. "Fine. I'll pay for the surgery, but you're getting Double D's."
